Savoy hotel
A Berlin landmark, the Savoy Hotel was built in 1929 from plans drawn up by the architect Heinrich Straumer, who aimed for a simple yet elegant style, deliberately avoiding rococo ornamentation. The 125 spacious and pleasantly appointed guestrooms, with their luxurious baths, distinguish themselves through their distinctive furnishings and unique atmosphere. Innumerable personalities have called this property a home away from home and enjoyed the peerless views offered by its 6th floor suites. The Greta Garbo suite is to this day decorated with a wonderful portrait of the Hollywood star. In the restaurant, with its bright, newly restored parquet floor and its spacious window frontage, guests are offered international delicacies prepared from seasonal and regional products. With a carefully prepared drink, courtesy of the elegant Times Bar, they can also rummage through the library for a good book or take up one of the international newspapers. In addition, there is a small garden, an entrance hall with lifts and a bar. There is a garage available nearby to the hotel which guests have access to.
