Intercontinental Hotel
The hotel is located in the heart of the city between Potsdamer Platz and the Kurfuerstendamm, not far from the district where the government offices and embassies are located or from the historical centre.
Intercontinental Hotel
The Intercontinental Hotel is housed in an imposing, 13-storey building with a 1950s-style black and white façade, which creates an impressive checker board effect when viewed from a distance. A 7-storey extension was added in the 1980s and a large glass entrance hall with a chandelier hanging from its apex connects the two wings. This area leads into the lobby, which is handsomely appointed with polished wood floors, oriental carpets, lots of foliage and plentiful seating. The 584 spacious guestrooms are decorated in bright, pleasant colour schemes and feature an excellent range of amenities, including a work desk and complimentary magazines. All are clean and well maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms, which have tub/shower combos. The hotel offers a variety of dining options. On the 14th floor, “Hugo’s Gourmet Restaurant”, under the supervision of chef Thomas Kammeier, is Michelin-starred and offers a delightful Mediterranean atmosphere, complemented by stunning views over the Tiergarten, Berlin Zoo and the western city centre. Marlene Bar – on the ground floor, named after Marlene Dietrich – serves excellent cocktails and features live music every day, while the LA Café offers a generous buffet breakfast, as well as Asian cuisine for lunch and dinner. This is an extremely luxurious and elegant hotel and features everything one would expect from a five star property. The leisure club offers a whirlpool, sauna, fitness equipment and solarium.
