Bogota Hotel
The Bogota Hotel is housed in a traditional 5-storey building with an ornate façade, which dates from 1911. It has existed in its present form since 1964, when a quartet of separate hotels on four floors was combined into one property. Popular with budget-conscious travellers, it feels like a cross between a friendly pension and a fading grand hotel. Basic but clean, the 130 guestrooms vary significantly in size, due to the age of the building. They are decorated in warm beige and brown tones, complemented by dark wood furnishings. Only some of the rooms have en suite facilities. In what is now the breakfast room, the great jazz clarinetist Benny Goodman once performed, while the top floor has an exhibit of work by the great fashion photographer Yva, who had a studio here and tutored the young Helmut Newton.
